Classical diving holidays with whale sharks and mantas in Tofo Mozambique

Here, the whale shark is not a legend. The clear water of the Indian ocean in front of Tofo is very rich in Nutrition and offers therefore ideal conditions for an impressive and amazing diversity of a resident and seasonal fauna. Apart from the whale-sharks, Mantas can be watched dancing their ballet, Sea turtles are graceful cruising around and dolphins can be watched playing. Humpback whales can be seen and heard in the mating season, June till September.

The Whale shark in Tofo is the main attraction. They are present all year round but mainly from October to May. The best way to observe them is while snorkelling but it is also frequent to see them during a dive. Their size can reach 14 meters.
Manta rays gather on the reefs at the numerous cleaning stations. They fly in numbers of up to ten or more around you. They can measure up to 6 meters from tip to tip!
Shark populations are drastically decreasing as they are in many places aroudn the globe, but Zambezi or bulls, ragged-tooth, hammers, white and black tip, leopards and Guitars sharks remain present around Tofo.

Dolphins are present in larger groups between May and September in times of the Sardine migration further down south. Usually seen on boat rides to the dive sites, school of Humpback dolphins are resident in the area and are more often seen.
Humpback whales visit Tofo between June and October for the mating season. The melody of their songs can be heard while you're diving!!
Turtles, Green and Leatherback live year round in the ocean and on the vast beaches of the Inhambane region. Dugongs, an almost extinguished species, still live in the Inhambane bay.
You find Tuna, Barracudas, King fish, trevallies, jacks, crocodile fish, scorpion fish, Nudibranches, Spanish dancers, Eels, the famous harlequin shrimp and many many more.

Tofo is the best location in Mozambique for diving, boasting nearly 15 spectacular sites located between 5 and 50 minutes by boat !!!

You can extend your stay with more diving in Zavora. Tofo and Zavora combined is the perfect diving holiday!

Kruger Park Extension
Accommodation will be in Marloth Park which is a private game reserve located on the southern edge of Kruger National Park. The entrance gate into the Kruger Park is only 10 km away on a gravel road. Inside the Marloth Park Conservancy no houses can be fenced and the game moves freely (giraffes, warthogs, zebras, antelopes, wildebeests, etc.) throughout the park. It is very easy to approach them on foot or by bicycle (to be planned). There is also an enclosure within Marloth Park with lions, rhinos and buffaloes. Night game drives will be available. Short walks along the Crocodile River which makes the border with Kruger Park will offer,
the opportunity of spotting the Big Five!

The lodges
There are about 12 small lodges inside Marloth Park, from 2 to 4 stars. We offer 2 qualities: Standard and Luxury.

The meals
Christian, our cook lives in the reserve. He will be taking care of the clients there and will cook in the normal quality lodges. Christian is also a good and lively organizer with a great deal of experience in Africa. Listening to his adventures in Africa will be part of the safari! He always finds a solution for every problem!

The Game Drives
The game drives in Kruger Park will be on a full day basis in an open 4x4 safari vehicle with an English speaking professional guide. Lunch will be organized by Christian.
